1 Introduction

Quizy ("we," "us," or "our") is a local shopping marketplace operated by Quizy Technologies Private Limited, a company incorporated under the Companies Act, 2013, registered in Telangana, India.

We are committed to protecting your personal data in accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011, and applicable global standards including GDPR principles.

By downloading or using the Quizy app, you consent to the data practices described in this policy.

2 Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

• Identity Data: Full name, phone number, email address, and profile picture.
• Location Data: Real-time and approximate geolocation data (collected only with your explicit permission) to show nearby stores, calculate delivery distances, and surface relevant local deals.
• Camera & Media: Access to your camera and photo gallery (with permission) for uploading profile pictures, store logos, product images, and scanning QR codes for check-ins and payments.
• Financial Data: Order amounts and transaction IDs. Card and bank account details are collected and processed exclusively by Razorpay and are never stored on Quizy servers.
• Device & Usage Data: Device type, OS version, app version, crash logs, and anonymised usage patterns collected via Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to improve app stability and features.
• Communications: Messages sent via in-app support chat or email to our support team.
• Notifications: Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) tokens to send you order updates, offers, and transactional alerts.

3 How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your Quizy account and authenticate you securely via Firebase Authentication.
• To process orders and facilitate transactions between you and Store Owners.
• To send transactional notifications: order confirmations, dispatch updates, delivery alerts, and OTPs.
• To display nearby stores and relevant local deals based on your location.
• To manage Quizy Coins, referral rewards, scratch cards, spin wheels, and other loyalty features.
• To detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent activity and abuse of our platform.
• To improve app performance, fix bugs, and develop new features using anonymised analytics data.
• To comply with applicable laws, court orders, or regulatory requirements.
• To send marketing communications about new features and offers — you can opt out at any time in Settings.

4 Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only as described below:

• Store Owners: Your name, order items, and delivery address are shared with the relevant Store Owner solely to fulfil your order.
• Razorpay: Payment processing partner. Razorpay's Privacy Policy governs how they handle your financial data. View it at razorpay.com/privacy.
• Google Firebase: Authentication, database (Firestore), file storage, analytics, crash reporting, and push notifications. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
• Google Maps Platform: Used for location services and store mapping within the app.
• Legal Authorities: We may disclose your data if required by Indian law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

5 Data Security

We implement industry-standard technical and organisational measures to protect your data:

• All data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS encryption.
• Data is stored on Google Cloud / Firebase infrastructure with role-based access controls.
• Payment data is handled exclusively by Razorpay, a PCI-DSS compliant payment gateway.
• Firebase Authentication is used for secure OTP-based login — we never store raw passwords.
• Firebase Security Rules restrict data access so users can only access their own records.

Despite our best efforts, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. In the event of a data breach that affects your rights, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

6 Children's Privacy

The Quizy app is intended for users who are 13 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal data without parental consent, we will delete such information promptly.

7 Your Rights

Under applicable Indian and international data protection law, you have the right to:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data (see Section 8).
• Opt-out of marketing: Unsubscribe from promotional notifications at any time via Settings → Notifications.
• Data portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format where technically feasible.
• Withdraw consent: Withdraw consent for location or camera access at any time via your device settings.

8 Account Deletion & Data Retention

You can permanently delete your Quizy account at any time by navigating to:

Upon deletion:

• Your profile, saved addresses, and personal details are permanently deleted within 30 days.
• Order history required for financial auditing may be retained for up to 7 years as required under Indian accounting regulations, but will be anonymised and not linked to your identity.
• Anonymised analytics data (non-personal) may be retained indefinitely for product improvement.
• If you have a pending order or an outstanding dispute, deletion may be deferred until resolution.

9 Third-Party Links & Services

The Quizy app may contain links to third-party websites or services (such as Store Owners' external websites). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. We encourage you to read their privacy policies before interacting with them.

10 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. When we make material changes, we will notify you via a push notification or a prominent notice within the app, and update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.

Continued use of the Quizy app after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
